Dreaming of Sun-Soaked Shores

So, it’s a gray rainy winter day here. And, as I was thinking of what picture to include with my first post, I decided to use the same one that’s on my computer’s desktop wallpaper.

I took this picture last February while on a writer’s retreat in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It was my last day and I woke up early to catch the sunrise and run on the beach before I headed back to the snow of Utah.

Ah…as I look at this picture, I can almost feel the warm Florida sun on my skin and the soft white sand in my toes. Summer will be here soon, won’t it?

In the meantime, I’m going to embrace the present moment. This winter I’m hoping to learn how to snowshoe and maybe cross country ski (since I actually have 3 pairs, don’t ask). I’d also like to check out some of the skiing competitions in Park City if they aren’t over all ready. I can’t believe the 2010 Winter Olympics start in less than a month. Go Team USA!

So, hopefully this will be the first of many posts to my new blog. Thanks to my good friend, Don, I actually have a website to be proud of. Now, I just need to do my part to keep it up.

More to come….
