My mom emailed this recipe to me the other day and I just had to try it to see if it would work. It did!
It’s extremely easy to make, uses ingredients you’re likely to have sitting around your kitchen, and the end result is mighty tasty.
In my opinion, it’s way too big of a serving for one person, so either save half of it for another day or find someone to share it with. 🙂
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
In a large microwave safe coffee mug, mix together:
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
Dash of cinnamon (optional)
Whisk in:
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
Splash of vanilla extract
Fold in:
3 tablespoons chocolate chips
1 tablespoon raisins (my addition)
1 tablespoon walnuts (my addition)
Cook in Microwave for 3 minutes. The cake will rise to the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed, it should not spill over. Remove from microwave and allow to cool a few minutes.
Serve: Eat it right out of the mug, or if you want to be fancy, tip it onto a plate and serve alone or with vanilla ice cream.
