A Chilly Morning in Queens

On my first trip to New York, I didn’t stay in Manhattan like most tourists do. Instead, I stayed across the East River in Jackson Heights with friends. From the moment I arrived in Queens, the borough’s name sounded strangely familiar to me. But why? Had I learned about it in school or studied it in geography? Had I heard about it in a news story? What was it about the name of “Queens” that seemed so important for me to remember…….?
